- HOSTAGE NEGOTIATION -

The hostage negotiation team which consists of SPD members assigned to handle situations which involve barricaded persons or armed hostage takers. The team will make contact with the involved persons in an attempt to resolve the problem by peaceful means, and they also try to obtain the suspects surrender.

Our hostage negotiation members have received regular specialized training through the Department of Criminal Justice Training and specialized training through the Institute of Police Technology and Management.

The training is based on problem resolution psychological tactics which are used to convince the subject involved to accept a peaceful surrender thus eliminating any other force or action.
