- CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION - 

The Criminal Investigation Division is staffed with detectives, including the supervisor who holds the rank of Detective Lieutenant. This office holds the responsibility of investigation all major crimes within the City of Somerset.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Somerset Police Department is a highly skilled investigative unit, trained in all general investigative duties with specialized training in crimes against persons (includes homicides, felony assaults, sex crimes and robberies), crimes against property (burglaries, felony thefts, frauds and auto theft), crimes against children (physical and sexual abuse), and evidence collection (all detectives are trained in basic and advanced evidence collection, crime scene photography and video taping, as well as forensic evidence collection).

The Criminal Investigation Division periodically initiates pro-active investigations involving crimes against children, targeting pedophiles and child pornographers. The Criminal Investigation Division also targets local career criminals (burglars, shoplifting rings).

The members of the Criminal Investigation Division belong to the following organizations:

  • Pulaski County Major Crimes Task Force

  • Regional Organized Crime Information Center (ROCIC)

  • Pulaski County Child Fatality Task Force

  • Pulaski County Multi disciplinary Team (Child sexual abuse)
