Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force

The Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force (LCADTF) is a multi-jurisdiction drug enforcement law enforcement agency.  The LCADTF was created in 1993 as a project of the Somerset Police Department.  Then-Chief David Gilbert (now the task force’s director) along with Ron Swartz and Jim Hyde, who made up the city’s drug enforcement unit, obtained funding through the Kentucky Justice Cabinet that created the LCADTF for Pulaski County, the City of Somerset and the cities of Williamsburg and Monticello.

The LCADTF now stands three counties strong, with a network of informants and cooperating agencies throughout Pulaski, Wayne and McCreary Counties.  The LCADTF conducts drug investigations for the Somerset Police Department.  Citizens are encouraged to contact them with any information about drug trafficking within the city limits or their area.  Anonymous tips with valid information are a vital part of drug investigations.
